Energize Your Landscape Paintings – Explore Something New!
Jun 1 - Jun 6
4 Teaching Days
Description
One of the best ways to enhance and revitalize your approach to painting is to try something new. This landscape painting workshop is designed for artists who are searching for new inspiration to bring to their creative process. It is a gently guided course for artists who would like to test the water of a new medium or approach. Sometimes fear of failure, financial restraints, or a lack of experience can stop us from exploration of a new medium.
This studio-based workshop is intended to take those elements off of the table. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring the art supplies they already have or to purchase a small amount of the new medium supplies that they are most interested trying out.
Your goals for the workshop can include but are not limited to:
- Adding a new medium to your current process.
- Exploring a medium related to the one you currently use, for example, watercolorists may want to experiment with Gauche (or another opaque medium).
- You may want to gain insight into a style that differs from your own, for example abstract or representational.
- Or you may simply want to jump in and swim with a totally new to you medium.
Bonnie has a wide-ranging experience with a variety of painting mediums. Demos will be geared to the needs of the class. Students can expect daily ( quick paint ) demos and helpful critiques.
This new workshop will focus on acrylic, mixed media collage, watercolors (and other water base paints such as acrylic inks and markers)
Students can bring and explore any of these painting mediums: watercolor, gouache, acrylics or multi-media approaches such as collage. Bring a sketch book to be used for plein air sketches or for working up ideas. Solvents of any kind are prohibited.
Join Bonnie and your fellow participants at Dillman’s to restock and expand your artist “toolbox”. Let’s seize the moments of discovery.
