The Best Transparent and Opaque Watercolor Workshop

David works with every student to teach them how to control the medium of watercolor using bothtransparent and opaque watercolor and how to control it on many different surfaces, including whiteandblack watercolor paper, canvas panels, and hot press paper. The class also goes over how to frameyour watercolor without mats and glass and will show you how to wax and varnish your watercolors.

Biography

David is a professional and experienced artist, illustrator, and instructor with a strong background in fine art and commercial art industry who has worked at Foote Cone and Belding and J. Walter Thompson Worldwide and with established galleries and reps in Dallas and Chicago. He is skilled in fine art painting, storyboard illustration, graphics and concept development. With a degree in fine art and studio arts from the American Academy of Art, David’s career has included roles as gallery and school owner, instructor, illustrator and artist in the greater fine arts and design industry. He has taught for over 40 years, published 2 art books and written many articles for fine art publications. David is a highly skilled and sought-after art instructor. Recently David has taken to Plein-air painting and has won awards at every plein-air event he has entered.

If 9-8 students attend class (all teaching days): $550
If 7-6 students attend class (all teaching days): $580

Lunch On Own

Meals are on your own. All accommodations have cooking facilities. You may preorder box lunches and dinners for meals to be taken alone or with your group in: your studio, the lodge deck, cafe, or your accommodation. (Pre-ordering for lunches and dinners is required.)

Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class dinners (additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $40 per night for accommodations. Costs for box lunches and dinners are additional.
