Dale L. Popovich
Watercolor Impressions of the Great Northwoods
Sep 25 - Sep 30
4 Teaching Days
Description
Returning for the 4th year in 2022
WAITLIST ONLY FOR THIS CLASS
In this 4 full-day workshop, the student will experience Dale L Popovich’s unique step-by-step instruction in transparent watercolor. Teaching as a paint-along will allow the student to watch, go back and recreate what was just painted. He also stresses to his students to ask as many questions as they wish while he is painting. Bring your camera because he lets you snap photos along the way. He feels sharing his knowledge in all ways is the key to excellent learning.
The focus will be on large patterns of light and dark using scenes from nature. There will be very little drawing and more painting. You will understand how to build a painting from start to finish with a focal point. Exploring the beauty of nature while gaining a deeper understanding of the techniques, properties, and tools of this unique medium. Dale will cover all four seasons so you will have an understanding of color temperature intensity and most of all value.
During this workshop, you will paint eight paintings. The class is designed for beginners, intermediates, and advanced artists. His personal photo references will be supplied.
His objective is to have each student complete their paintings and leave with a new level of confidence, ability, and understanding of transparent watercolor.
