Robert Burridge
Studio Mentor Workshop

Jun 12 - Jun 17

4 Teaching Days

Description

Bob encourages and enables everyone to investigate a personal, intensely original style. This workshop is designed for painters pursuing advanced personal work. A maximum of 10 painters work closely with Bob during intense and solid painting time, developing their own body of work. Since this is a Mentor Workshop – it is up to you to decide what to bring and paint on – small warm-ups then work on large pieces; abstract, impressionism or realism. Your choice. No theme, only your own personal goals. Bring plenty of paper, canvas, paint, varnish, brushes and other stuff you may need!

On on side note… one student finished 20 large landscapes at one of these workshops! Others are happy to get one painting a day completed – all up to you, your energy and commitment to your project. Remember – Bob is there to help you with your goals – this is not a “teaching step-by-step” workshop.

  • Meet on Sunday at 4pm in the afternoon to set up your studio space, discuss goals and intentions. This is a good time to prep your studio space.
  • Monday thru Thursday – Four Days of Intense and solid painting time, developing your own body of work, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Educational and Very Personal.
  • Paint with Bob in his studio-away-from-home. Learn the incredible effectiveness of painting your own series based on your own theme, under the watchful eye of Burridge. Plenty of personal attention and assistance. Final exit debriefing on Thursday afternoon.

Sign up early – space is limited!

Biography

Robert Burridge, a noted award-winning industrial designer who, after twenty-five years in the corporate world, focused his life to painting everyday. Burridge attributes his success to his education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, his stint as an adjunct professor at Cooper Union in New York City, and in 1966, his Fluxus art performances with Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Jim McWilliams and Charlotte Moorman. His work hangs in permanent collections of international embassies, corporate galleries and art colleges. His solo museum exhibitions received positive attention, so he was invited to exhibit his paintings at the Smithsonian Folklife Circus Arts Festival in Washington, DC. Bob is also teaching and ALL NEW Abstract Acrylic Paint & Collage workshop, June 5-10, 2022.
