Are you considering starting or growing your online art business? In this 2 full-day workshop, Marilee will walk you through how to get started building an online art business. She understands the challenges of websites, blogging, Facebook and other social media sites, mailing lists, newsletters, and promoting events/demos/workshops – now more than ever.
Marilee will cover everything you need to get your online art business. She will share her knowledge regarding lessons she has learned from marketing her husband and watercolorist, Dale L Popovich, art organizations, and her clients.
She will discuss the following:
•How to develop your brand as an artist. •Free apps to start your business.
•How to create a basic websites. •Blogging.
•Email marketing.
•Social media marketing.
•Hardware, software, and equipment.
In addition:
•Learning materials will be supplied.
•There will be a private Facebook group to have a community of like-minded artists and
continue the conversation.
•Afterward–two 1-hour Zoom (July and August) Q & A/touchpoint group meetings.

Biography
Marilee Jacobi-Popovich understands the artist’s mind. A graduate of the American Academy of Art, Chicago, she studied Foundations, Life Drawing, Watercolor with Irving Shapiro, Graphic Design, and Advertising. In college, she met and married Dale L Popovich, IWS watercolorist, and used her marketing knowledge to successfully promote his business. In addition, they have an online school, toweringwindsacademyoffinearts.teachable.com.
After college, Marilee worked as an Art Director/Creative Director with Fortune 500 clients in some of Chicago’s fastest-paced advertising and marketing firms for 21 years. She collected valuable knowledge during that time, being a brand strategy advisor for Citibank Visa, McDonald’s, Frito-Lay, and Purdue University.
Currently, Marilee is the owner of POPovichDESIGN.com, a branding agency based in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin. POPdesign provides creative strategy, graphic design, and marketing development for small and mid-size businesses. Specializing in logos & corporate identity systems as well as advertising, web design, email marketing, SEO (search engine optimization), social media, and anything print-related.
She is also an art business consultant for artists and art organizations.

Friday, June 16

ONLY FRI AND SAT night accommodations
Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and champagne toast/dessert (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class for Friday dinner ($27 additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $40 per night for accommodations. Costs for box lunches are additional.
Meals are on your own. All accommodations have cooking facilities. You may preorder box lunches and dinners for meals to be taken alone or with your group in: your studio, the lodge deck, cafe, or your accommodation. (Pre-ordering for lunches and dinners is required.)
