When we asked Bob “Where would you most like to
paint (other than Northern Wisconsin, of course)?” Bob said, “On the beach in the Bahamas”...so would you like to be among the lucky students and PALS (those
who do other things than paint) who join him in the
picturesque islands of Abaco on Elbow Cay.
This workshop will emphasize loose, expressive techniques, not necessarily photo realism techniques; of course, your style is up to you and Bob will help you with it. It is a
worry-free, day-by-day activities account and exotic history
of where we will be painting. Bob is planning to focus
on painting a series, based on specific color themes. We
will not try to capture everything we see, knowing we’ll be
overwhelmed by the awesomeness of this trip! Your painting goals are also important.
Hope Town Harbour Lodge will provide the island accommodations and meals. In addition to
painting on the beach, an indoor painting location in the lodge’s lovely lounge and/or poolside
will be reserved for you. One day we will travel by water taxi to another island to paint and
enjoy island cuisine mid day. There will be plenty of time to paint on your own and explore the
English heritage of the cay or nearby cays with friends and family. Bob will paint in acrylic and
you may choose your painting medium. Class will be held Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. Bob,
and his wife Kate, will offer a beach-side Friday class: “Marketing for the Artist Who Knows
Everything.” Elbow Cay, and surrounding areas, are filled with activities for those not
participating in the art classes. We can help with ideas, suggestions and arrangements.

About Your Leaders
Dillman’s Creative Arts Foundation has been offering workshops
in northern Wisconsin and other exotic ports of call for 35 years. Some
places traveled include Costa Rica, Greece, Italy, France, Bermuda, Bora Bora, and
several repeat cruises to the Caribbean. Students, friends, and family
of students enjoy the camaraderie with other like-minded people. Our experience
lets us know what you need and anticipate the attention to detail you require.

Robert Burridge Bob leads an exciting and lively career with an impressive resume of credits to his name: He is the first artist featured on Starbuck’s Commuter Mugs; the Official Artist for the 2001 Sausalito Art Festival-- his image, “Party of the Arts” was selected as the top festival poster of the year by Sunshine Artist Magazine. As the Official Pearl Vodka Artist, his “Three Cheers America” is featured on the hang tags of every bottle. Burridge has just completed his 4th label for Pearl. Named by the LA Times as one of California’s “Top Ten Emerging Artists”, Robert is a winner of the prestigious Philadelphia Water Color Society Crest Medal, previously won by Georgia O’Keeffe, Andrew Wyeth and Pablo Picasso. Walking Tour of Hope Town Harbour Lodge

Your flights will be met by our coordinating taxi driver at the Marsh Harbor Airport. You will be taken to the Hope Town Ferry for transportation across the harbor to the Hope Town Harbour Lodge.
Please let us know in advance your airline/flight and time of arrival. Let us know if you would like to arrive early or extend your trip.
In advance of your check-in to your unit at Hope Town Harbour Lodge, please let us know if you would like an accommodation upgrade, a single supplement or if you will have a friend or family member(s) joining you.

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM — Class in Session. Location to be announced at breakfast. Wednesday is an unstructured day for painting or enjoying the island.
You might like to finish up a painting, start a new one, enjoy the pool and walk the beach. Discover the English historical charm and hospitality of the island's quaint shops and restaurants. Restaurants provide free transportation to the farther parts of Elbow Cay. Make reservations for snorkeling trip, golf cart rental to explore on your own, take a water taxi to an out island or just nap on a beach chair in the balmy breezes.

BE SURE TO REMEMBER: ALL INDIVIDUALS NEED TO HAVE A PASSPORT (Or a photo ID and a certified birth certificate - please check http://nassau.usembassy.gov/acs_travel.php for more details. Passports have been required for all travelers since January 2007.)
Check with your airline about baggage restrictions. They are becoming more strigent. There are laundry facilities on the island and the island's dress code is quite causal. Most places accept Visa. Be sure you bring adequate medication in your carry-ons plus, sun screen and sun glasses... don't forget your bathing suit and we will hope for good warm weather and a flashlight with extra batteries.

Should cancellation occur prior to 120 days before 1/20/12 departure, full
refund will be granted less a $50 service charge per person. In addition
to any airline penalties. If you cancel between 90-119 days $250 will be
refunded. Cancellations received less than 90 days from departure will
receive no refund. Cancellations must be submitted in writing; the date
such notification is received by Dillman’s is the cancellation date.
Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.

indicated, beverages except at breakfast, and listed receptions; optional
