The end result is just one small element that goes into creating a piece of art what’s often overlooked is the process and the steps taken to open doors intuitively and to encouraging self-expression. The first few days of the workshop will be devoted to building a palette of collage papers. Creating one’s personal touch all the way through by sanding, adding texture, printing, and altering found papers with acrylics, mediums and printing objects. The most important part of the process is called “play,” which as adults we seem to have left by the wayside. Using a collage sketchbook for meditation and for inspiring new compositions, each student will build upon their own life’s experience for reference. Students will learn about the heat seal method of adhering collage papers to a variety of surfaces. This workshop offers so many ideas, and encourages a playful creative process that will feed your inner artist for a long time.
