Darren ThompsonFeaturing the remarkable talent from Ojibwe Country, Darren Thompson offer a "one-of-a-kind" opportunity to learn about the North American Indian flute. You will have the opportunity to see the flute made as well as learn how to play while immersed in American Indian culture. The workshop is open to anyone who is yearning to learn about one of the oldest and rarest instruments in the world. You will have a rare opportunity to work with some of the most dedicated artists of Native American flute music today. Darren brings his years of experience and artistic talents and dedication to help you learn about Native American music, how to make and construct Native American flutes, how to play and grow with the instrument, and learn more about American Indian culture.



Darren Thompson is an enrolled member of the Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe. He was raised on the Lac du Flambeau Reservation and shares his cultural heritage as well as his experiences as a performer to bring participants an authentic perspective on how to grow with the instrument. He is a self-taught Native American flute player and has traveled many parts of the country and has recently broadened his experiences overseas.

Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class dinners (additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $50 per night for accommodations. Costs for box lunches and dinners are additional.
