All About Abstract
New to Dillman’s
www.shirleyblake.com
Experience the delight of painting non-representational art using your imagination as the guide in your creations. If you haven't tried abstract painting, if you love it but are stymied, or if you're an accomplished abstract painter, plan on having four busy and fun filled days. There are no boundaries, rules, or "no no's" in this adventure which will stretch your creative mind and focus in on your "style" of painting. Each day there will be a new abstract lesson for you to incorporate into your work. The principles and elements of design will help as you experience the exercises of the daily lessons. We will discuss styles of painting, your thought processes while painting, and steps to complete your pieces.
Class comments and critique are a daily part of class. All media are welcome. Oil painters need to use odorless solvents. Past experience is helpful but not a must. An open, experimental, and "anything goes" attitude is most helpful! The principles and elements of design will help as you experience the exercises of the lessons with titles such as: really not real, single style, random resolve, clever contours, memory magic, dream drama, lover's lane, flying fingers, famous faves, marvelous messes, symbolicious, etc.
