He is generous with his time and knowledge, and determined to help you gain confidence and produce new and exciting work. You will learn techniques for producing strong, effective value sketches. Ron will do lots of demos and one-on-one teaching and is famous worldwide for being a tireless and inspirational teacher.

Ron is an internationally known tutor, author of 26 books and many videos, and is the European editor for International Artist Magazine and Pastel International Magazine. He is famed for his use of the hake brush. Ron Ranson is an English artist, teacher and author who divides his time between the west and east coasts of the US. Workshops are held at his home in Oregon, and at his second studio in Wintergreen, Virginia . He is one of the world's most traveled watercolor teachers, giving workshops to students on every continent for many years. Ron is an artist of great patience and good English humor!

His style is impressionistic and traditionalist, and his work is known for its purity of design and clear, transparent colors. He paints with his own version of the oriental hake brush, teaching his students freedom of expression and simplicity. Painting decisively and quickly, Ron is a master of timing.

Ron's twenty-five books are translated and sold worldwide. Contributing to many, many art magazines, he was the first editor of the prestigious publication, The International Artist.

Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class dinners (additional fee).
