Ken has taught art workshops for over 20 years and is highly respected for his calm, supportive manner and unique use of color. He has been a guest workshop instructor for over 60 art organizations across the United States and in exotic locations such as Italy, Greece and Mexico. The Artist's Magazine and Watercolor Magic have published a number of his articles including, "Four Steps to Creative Color," and "How to Paint Backward." His painting, "Spring Calves," and accompanying article were included in Splash 4: The Splendor of Light, published by North Light Books. Ken's art instruction videos include More Dynamic Color, Secrets of Flower Painting, Watercolor Basics, and Hosmer's Famous Ink Sketch. Workshop ItinerarySunday 9/9 *5 nights’ accommodations are included in this workshop Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class dinners (additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $50 per night for accommodations. Costs for box lunches and dinners are additional.

'Loosen up' and paint with dramatically enriched, yet believable color. Ken reveals unique color and design ideas each day and encourages you to develop your personal style through creative interpretation. This workshop will focus on landscape type subjects with figures, buildings or water. Alla prima painting techniques are presented, utilizing toned canvas under-painting. Ken has a special gift for clearly explaining his artistic method as he paints. As a devoted teacher, he organizes ideas into simple terms and offers plenty of personal help and encouragement. Paint, have fun and learn more than you ever imagined possible. All demos will be done in oil, however, acrylic painters are welcome.
