Wet & Wild: Paint Water Scenes in Brilliant Color

Julie Gilbert PollardLearn to make water look wet, reflective and splashy. Choosing watercolor, oil or acrylic as your primary medium, study water in its various forms: from water cascading over rocks and boulders, to glassy reflection, to the glitter and sparkle of light dancing on the lake. You will learn techniques that address the various puzzles with which the artist is faced when painting this stunning, fascinating - and yes, confusing - subject! In addition to traditional methods, learn to use "acrylic underpinnings" to set the stage for creating vibrant colors in your "waterscapes." Demonstrations will feature this exciting technique for both watercolor and oil.

Teaching Medium: watercolor OR oil with acrylic used as adjunct to either medium or you can use acrylic by itself. That technique - used for watercolor - is introduced in her two watercolor DVDs from North Light Shop/ArtistsNetwork.tv (2011) and book Watercolor Unleashed!(2012). Used for oils - the technique is featured in her book Brilliant Color (North Light Books 2009). The benefits of this method are numerous and enable you to get your painting “off the ground” very quickly. It’s a unique approach to both oil and watercolor (watercolor on either paper or canvas) that will add considerably to your repertoire of painting techniques!
