Bob Noreika     Sept 25-Oct 1, 2011 (Five Teaching Days)
Fearless Fluid Watermedia

Bob Noreika Artwork “Values and shapes… values and shapes.”

In this workshop we will strive for a strong, cohesive value pattern with interesting shapes. Robert Noreika will demonstrate how to take the essence of an outdoor landscape and transform it into a pleasing painting. Robert has the ability to spontaneously see the big picture and put it onto canvas or paper by assessing different values and colors to create a painting, not an illustration. We will use simple palette combinations along the journey, including complimentary colors, triads, or even just sepia.

Robert’s expressive approach works well with all levels of ability. He has worked exclusively in transparent watercolor for over 35 years, and feels “Golden Brand” fluid acrylics will help expand and motivate the watercolorist and oil painters. Fluid acrylics are more forgiving than transparent watercolor and allow a full range of flexibility – from transparent to translucent to opaque.

Robert’s laid back teaching approach has been enjoyed by many students and professionals. Not only are his classes structured and accommodating, but also quite humorous and fun. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see certain kitchen tools being used as paint scrapers, or his easel having been made out of an old lawn chair. He looks forward to guiding you in your painting journey!
