Tom Jones     September 5-10, 2010 (Four Teaching Days)
A Simple Four Step Approach to Painting a Beautiful Landscape

Tom Jones Watercolo Watch and learn an easy way of creating a beautiful landscape painting using four simple steps. You will receive Tom’s personal attention while enjoying a high energy, positive workshop that will explore every element of nature’s beauty. This class will take you from start to finish using exciting and fun techniques. You will learn how to paint more dynamic skies, unique approaches to adding textures in the landscape and how layering in a painting gives you more and better depth. Tom will teach you how placement of color will make your painting more exciting and appealing to the viewer. Demo’s and instruction will also focus on how and where to paint the center of interest.

Tom’s teaching philosophy:
It is not my goal to change ones painting style, but rather to give them as many new ideas to enhance their current painting style as possible. My approach to teaching is to give students as much information and as many new ideas as I can fit in the schedule and hold nothing back. I believe that workshops are a serious learning place, but at the same time should be fun and entertaining. In my class I give students as much one-on-one guidance as possible and give only positive critiques. I encourage students to take notes and bring cameras to photograph my teaching aids, paintings and demos. At the end of the class I give each student a signed print as a thank you from me. Above all else I believe in going the extra mile to make sure students leave saying “WOW, that was great.”
