Susan Louise MoyerSusan Louise Moyer is an international known silk painter, leading author and educator who for the past 20 years has been presenting workshops and organizing retreats, throughout the United States. She demonstrates painting on silk techniques and teaches art and design through her medium. Her teaching experience includes, Parsons The New School of Design, Fashion Institute of Techknowledgy, New York Society of Illustrators, Surface Design Association, Peter's Valley Craft Center, Pacific North West Art School, Mendocino Art Center, Oregon College of Art and Craft, Sedona Art Center, International Quilt Festival in Houston Texas, Empty Spools Seminars at Asilimar, Volcano Art Center in Hawaii and the Honolulu Academy of Art.

Susan studied Fine Art and Surface Design at the University of the Arts (formally Philadelphia College of Art). She also took classes at the New School of Social Research and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

While living in the New York area, Susan designed and painted a line of men's neckwear and ladies evening dresses. Her garments were commissioned by private customers and carried by Sax Fifth Avenue, Barnie's, Nieman Marcus and Henri Bendel. Her surface design was purchased by bathing suit, men's shirt and ladies dress manufactures such as Gottex Swimwear, Kauai Ann, Rose Mary Reid and Rebecca Taylor in New York.

Susan's books, SILK PAINTING the Artist's Guide to Gutta and Wax Resist Techniques published by Watson Guptill and the revised edition of SILK PAINTING for FASHION and FINE ART, published by Moyer Design, have been well received both nationally and internationally. Susan now lives in Mendocino County on the North Coast of California.

Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class for breakfasts and dinners (additional fee).

PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $300, includes accommodations. Costs for breakfasts, dinners and receptions are additional.
