Big Brush Watercolor

Ron RansonRon Ranson is an English artist, teacher, and author. He is one of the world's most traveled watercolor teachers, giving workshops and private instruction to students on every continent for many years. Ranson is an artist of great patience and good English humor!
His style is both impressionistic and traditionalist, and his work is renowned for its purity of design and clear, transparent colors. He paints with his own version of the oriental hake brush, teaching you freedom of expression and simplicity. Painting decisively and quickly, Ron is a master of timing.

You will learn techniques for producing strong, effective value sketches. The eight principles of design will be stressed, focusing on how best to use them in producing good paintings. Based on Ron's two books on skies, he will demonstrate watercolor techniques for producing various types of cloud formations.

A prolific author, Ron has written over 25 art books sold throughout the world. He also writes articles for art magazines in England, Holland, Norway and Australia, and has been the European editor of the prestigious publication, International Artist Magazine.
