Exploritas: Sketching in the Northwoods

Peggy GrinvalskyExperience the beautiful Northwoods environment and translate it into lively, energetic sketches. Understand the concept of the ‘felt sight’ (the ‘thing’ the vacation snapshot always seems to miss) and learn to react to what you see and experience with relaxed ease, capturing all the strength and vitality of the moment in dynamic sketches. This class will show how to use mixed-media to quickly record the stunning Northwoods moments with the easiest use of a combination of materials. Learn to mix pencil, watercolor, color pencil, pen, and pastel. Find what you personally are comfortable with and how to manage the materials for an enjoyable day out sketching in nature. Your work may be representational, experimental or impressionistic, all levels are welcome. There will be both studio instruction and on location sketching, as weather permits.

With 27 years of teaching experience, Peggy has been a studio artist for 40 years. Her work is in private collections throughout the Americas and Europe. She is a published children's book illustrator and a highly respected nationally known muralist.

There will be a pontoon ride and full use of the resort amenities.

Studio and On Location: Something for all levels - BEGINNERS WELCOME.

Peggy offers a partial tuition scholarship.
