Discover the joy of negative painting! Linda will lead you step-by step through the key exercises and strategies of working with this unconventional, creative approach. Through the completion of custom tailored new projects, you will quickly learn the essential skills needed to build dynamic florals, landscapes and a variety of other subjects with layers of beautiful glazes and simplified shapes. This fun and fast paced, expanded program includes demos, tutored individual painting time and personal critique that will guide you toward more successful painting.
This course is intended to open a creative door and provide thought-provoking options for artists of all levels of painting experience who are searching for inspiring ideas and broadened perception. Seeing the world in a different way will improve your paintings and expand your repertoire!
A full time artist, Linda Kemp frequently instructs and lectures at national symposiums and watercolour workshops throughout Canada, The United States and The United Kingdom. She was the recipient of the 2005 Woman of Distinction Award for Arts and Culture and in 2008 received the AJ Casson Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Watercolour, the top award for the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour National Juried Exhibition.
Linda is internationally recognized for her unique contemporary watercolours and innovative use of negative painting. She is the author of Watercolor Painting Outside the Lines - A Positive Approach to Negative Painting (North Light pub.) and the accompanying video (Teaching Art Videos) by the same title. Kemp is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, The Ontario Society of Artists and The Society of Canadian Artists and was given honorary membership in the Society for all Artists (UK). This artist is profiled in Canadian Who’s Who, Who’s Who of Canadian Women, The Dictionary of International Biography, The 20th Anniversary Edition of Trivial Pursuit and 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century. Her award winning paintings are in private, public, and corporate collections around the world, including The Royal Collection, Windsor Castle, U.K. and the private collection of HRH The Prince of Wales.
Her paintings and articles have been featured in publications such as Twenty Wonders, American Artist Magazine, Watercolor Magic, International Artist, Watermedia Focus, Palette Magazine and The Watercolour Gazette. Linda's studio is located in Southern Ontario, Canada.
Linda offers a partial tuition scholarship.

PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s
for $300, includes accommodations. Costs for breakfasts, dinners and receptions
are additional.
Box lunches are available at Dillman’s for an additional fee.
