(Five Teaching Days)
Watercolor: Plein Air to the Studio
New to Dillman's
www.placesintime.com
The first several days will be exciting as we gather information at painting sites in the form of quarter sheet (and smaller) and written notes of info. Joseph will demo his brush handling techniques and quickly show you how to paint trees, fog, texture, “greens”, use of “black” and much more. He has painted this way for years and now you will be able to answer the question, “I have these color studies, photos and notes, what do I do now?” You’ll love this logical approach as we piece together a finished landscape. An added bonus is your record of your creative journey. With over 30 years of painting experience.
In case of bad weather, you should bring photos and sketches to work from indoors. Come and enjoy a creative and entertaining workshop.
Joseph has been painting fine art for over thirty years. He has studied with such notables as Bob Lougheed and Richard Schmid. Joseph has won numerous national awards and notable commissions. He is also a gifted musician playing Blues and Honky-Tonk piano. In June 1991, he was elected by his peers to membership in the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF WESTERN ART (NAWA) and won the Silver Medal for Watercolor in their 1992 show. He is a life member of the MID-WEST WATERCOLOR SOCIETY, a founding member of the NORTHWEST RENDEZVOUS, signature member of the AMERICAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY, WATERCOLOR USA HONOR SOCIETY, and the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL WATER-MEDIA SOCIETY.
