Would you like to achieve a fresher, looser, more spontaneous and more confident style? You will learn to contrast flowing colorful washes with crisp hard edges, sparkling bright whites of the paper with rich layered darks, and complex areas of interest with restful areas of your composition. Daily demos sprinkled with humor will cover negative painting, color mixing, and developing a simple sketch to organize your painting. Bridget will work with students to help refine individual styles through personal and group critiques. Subjects will include people and landscape elements such as: trees, rocks, water, flowers and buildings.
Bridget’s expressive paintings reflect her love of the Midwestern landscape, as well as her travels, and have been accepted and received awards in many national and regional shows including the AWS and NWS. She received the Master of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America medal. A graduate of UW-Madison, she has worked as a graphic designer and teacher, and has enjoyed concentrating on watercolor painting and sharing her enthusiasm for the medium in workshops for 25 years. Her work is included in many private, corporate, public collections worldwide and in books including, Creative Watercolor, Searching for the Artist Within, and Celebrating Door County’s Wild Places and on commercial products.
