Janet Rogers AWS, FWS June 28 – July 3, 2009 (Four Teaching Days) New to Dillman’s This dynamic workshop is designed to enable students to quickly gain confidence in approaching the portrait and figure in a more spontaneous, intuitive and expressive way. Special emphasis will be on achieving a fresh look of translucent flesh tones with unique color changes. Approaching children’s portraits will be covered. Janet will also focus on achieving quick gesture paintings from models and photos - letting the watercolor form the gestures in a fun and fluid manner. Students will work primarily from photographs, but will also have an opportunity to work from models. Our goal will be to bring “life” and interpretation to the portrait and figure. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Janet currently lives in Ormond Beach, Florida with watercolorist, Steve Rogers. Janet has won numerous awards from exhibiting her watercolors, including Disney’s Festival of the Masters, “Under the Oaks”, and the Florida Watercolor Society, of which she is a Signature Member, and also a Member with Excellence of the South Carolina Watercolor Society. Janet is well known for her sensitive portraits of women and children, as well as her expressive floral paintings. She has gained much popularity as an instructor for many watercolor workshops in the United States and Europe. Watercolor demonstrations are part of her busy schedule, including Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Florida Watercolor Society, and of course workshops throughout the United States. Janet’s work is in Galleries in Maine, and Florida, and can also be found in the book “The One-Hour Watercolorist” by Patrick Seslar, and published by North Light, as well as her three new DVDs. Studio: Something for all levels.
Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class for breakfasts and dinners (additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s
for $300, includes accommodations. Costs for breakfasts, dinners and receptions
are additional.
