This workshop will explore the excitement of painting realistic, as well as abstract qualities, of light. Learn to use a painterly approach to create dynamic works of art and use expressive brushwork for realistic effects in your paintings. How to examine colors, values and temperatures of light and shadow, its luminosity, is demonstrated. You will examine the “how to’s” of massing and organizing darks and lights, value and color relationships, edges, direction and other important design applications in creating dynamic paintings. Betty also demonstrates how to work from field sketches, value studies and a combination of photos.
