Terry Isaac   Society of Animal Artists     September 7 – 13, 2008 (Five Teaching Days)
Acrylic Wildlife Art

Terry Isaac, paints North American wildlife and has recently added the animals and birds of Africa and Asia to his repertories. Although Terry received a formal art education, he believes his best training has come from fieldwork and from studying the work of favorite wildlife artists. Terry encourages students to bring whatever type of medium in which they are comfortable. He will be demonstrating with Liquitex acrylic paints. Also bring reference material to include subject and setting. Terry works from color prints and sketchbooks. He asks students to bring slides of their work for his critiques. He will do studio demonstrations. This workshop is timed for you to also enjoy the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum Exposition “Birds in Art” in Wausau, WI.

Terry taught art at the secondary level in public school for eight years before turning to painting full-time. In addition to his extensive teaching background, Terry has shown art in many important exhibitions including the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s prestigious annual "Birds in Art" from 1987-1999, 2004 and the Wildlife The Artist’s View in 1990-1993. Additional creative endeavors include commissions to paint the 1991 New York duck stamp and to create fourteen waterfowl drawing for the Audubon Bird handbooks. His paintings are included in: Painting Birds Step-by-Step, The Best of Wildlife Art, and his own book Painting the Drama of Wildlife Step-by-Step (North Light Books). Since 1988 Mill Pond Press, Venice Florida has published his paintings.
