– 14, 2008 (Two Teaching Days)
New to Dillman's Learn how to embellish your quilts with beautiful threads and machine embroidery. Ann Fahl, author of Coloring with Thread, the book and DVD, will be the instructor for this 2 day workshop. The first day will be spent learning basic embroidery techniques and gaining an understanding of the challenges of decorative threads and how to use them. Day two will be spent fabricating and embroidering a small wallhanging designed by the student, with autumn leaves as the subject. Uninterrupted 24-hour studio time is available in the main studio, which offers plenty of table space, large picture windows, and lots of electrical outlets. A second studio is also accessible for spreading out your work. Come spend a colorful two days embroidering with Ann. Ann Fahl, prize winning quilter of Racine, WI has exhibited her quilts in competitions, solo and invitational shows in the US, France and Japan. Her work is included in the collections of Northwestern Mutual Insurance Co., Neiman Marcus, Quilts Inc., and Ripon College. Her new book is titled, Coloring with Thread. In 2007 a DVD was published based on the book. Many of her quilts and articles can be found in quilting publications worldwide. She has a line of patterns based on her original designs. Workshop’s itinerary Monday – Friday 10/13 Tuesday 10/14 Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class for breakfasts and dinners (additional fee). PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s
for additonal fees. Costs for breakfasts, dinners and
receptions are additional.
