Seeing Light
as a Painter – Watercolor and Acrylic
www.bettycarrfineart.com
Returning for the 2nd year
Betty covers linear as well as atmospheric perspective, drawing basics and
aspects of painting light in this workshop. How to examine colors, values and
temperatures of light and shadow, its luminosity, is demonstrated. You will
examine the “how to’s” of massing and organizing darks and
lights, value and color relationships, edges, direction and other important
design applications in creating dynamic paintings. Betty also demonstrates
how to work from field sketches, value studies and a combination of photos.
You are encouraged to bring in paintings and drawings for open critique, and
your favorite photos, especially ones saved for that “challenging” painting.
Come prepared to have fun! Betty is the author of a number of books, the latest
being Seeing the Light: An Artist’s Guide.
Studio: Something for all levels.
Betty offers a partial tuition scholarship.
Workshop Fee: $475 + tax.
