New to Dillman’s
Strip away the mysteries of color and color usage in your art! This informative
and useful workshop will begin with scientific and psychological insights into
color and color theory. Using water based paints, colored pencils and colored
papers, students will learn about color relationships and harmonies. Relationships
between colors, color relativity, value, and contrast will be studied so that
students can readily apply color theory in their art practices. Color strategies
will be applied in several finished compositions throughout the workshop. Nina’s
workshop uses visual examples, hands on mixing, and plenty of one-on-one instruction
to strengthen your learning experience.
Nina is passionate about color, and
has taught Color Strategies, painting, and drawing at the School of the Art
Institute in Chicago, the Evanston Art Center, Columbia College, and in many
workshops throughout the Midwest. Her landscape paintings and drawings have
been included in the US Government Art in Embassies Program, and many corporate
collections including United Airlines, Hyatt Hotels, McDonalds, Marriot, and
Embassy Suites. She is represented by galleries throughout the Midwest, and
was chosen as Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park in the summer of
2005. You can see her art in several Hollywood films, and in hotel rooms across
America.
Past Workshops students of Nina have raved: “Nina is one of the
best teachers I have had. She teaches a great sense of color.......” “Nina
REALLY teaches.......I learned a lot about technique and color that I never
knew before. A great Workshop!” “Nina is an excellent teacher.
She puts her instruction into a context relevant to her teaching. She provides
a nice balance of information, example/demo & individual guidance.” “I
wanted to thank you for your help with my painting, I must tell you that I
have never had a teacher that has been as helpful as you are. I have taken
a few classes through the Monacep Program at OCC but I have never encountered
a true teacher, that is a gift. Thank you-See you next month."
