Joyce Speechley    May 27 – June 2, 2007 (Five Teaching Days)
Grounds to Glazes in Oil

During Joyce’s workshop you will learn the importance of working with grounds and glazes in oil. Joyce’s class is open to painters of all levels. The workshop begins with learning how color within the ground can impact the final piece of artwork. This workshop you will give you an understanding of grounds and glazes through working fat over lean method. This technique will enhance the student’s understanding of the versatility of oils while gaining an understanding of color. You will also learn how to break away from basic paining techniques while creating paintings with mood and intense color. Students will experience this understanding through a step by step process. The focus will include color, composition and visual depth. Joyce is an established artist and college instructor for the last 20 years. She teaches her classes through demonstrations, detailed instruction, and individual attention.
