Creative Collage and Mixed Media
Returning for the 2nd year
This workshop will emphasize creative experimentation with a variety of innovative
collage and painting techniques. Participants will learn to combine a wide
range of media, such as oil pastel, encaustic, monotype printing, transfer
techniques and the use of hand-dyed papers. Students are encouraged to explore
the use of photo, hand drawn, found and collage imagery to create 2 & 3-dimensional
artwork. During the course of this workshop we will explore textural effects,
layering of color using alternative surfaces, and the importance of individual
expression. Various approaches to these processes will be shown in class through
demonstrations, visual aids, slides and original artwork. The last half of
the final day will be reserved for a classroom critique. Annie is an enthusiastic
instructor. Her workshops are upbeat, fun and informative.
