New to Dillman’s
This seminar is for the woodcarver who is tired of the traditional step-by-step;
follow the pattern procedures used in most woodcarving seminars. Each carver
will design and produce a truly unique work of art. For those who believe they
have a “not so creative mind,” Tom
will guide them down an exploratory path to success, showing the student how
to get the most out of the wood. The carving medium is Cottonwood Bark. Tom
will have a supply of this unique bark to choose from or the student may supply
their own. New this year is a segment showing students how to add a stained
glass appearance to their carvings. The course is designed to give each
participant a finished piece while having a relaxing, fun filled experience.
Tom brings seventeen years of carving experience to the carving table. The
technical part of the course is taught through lectures, demonstrations and
lots of one-on-one instruction. A participant in this class should have a minimum
of one year’s carving experience and a good basic knowledge of woodcarving.
The experienced carver will find the course challenging and rewarding.
