We are fortunate to once again offer two engle classes this fall:

to Paint Water - Reflections and Beaches
Note:
Class #1 arrival is on Sunday and departure is on Friday. Class #2 arrival
is on Friday and departure is on Wednesday. If you would like to move to
another class, or take both classes, or know of friends who could join you
please do not hesitate to be in touch.
The workshop package
starts with arrival (September 30 and October 5)
- 5pm
1ST RECEPTION AND DINNER on day of arrival.
- 5pm 2ND RECEPTION AND DINNER on
last day of class in the Lodge Lakeside Cafe.
- The first package is over on
Friday morning after breakfast and for the second group after breakfast on
Wednesday.
- There will be 5 breakfasts served in
each package.
- For the other dinners we may be car pooling to area restaurants.
You may order box lunches for the week upon arrival to be available at 12:00
noon each day. Day Students are welcome to pre-register for any of these
meals.
- There are 5 nights accommodation included .
Nita teaches a high energy condensed instruction for three days. Due to the
structure of the class the number of instructional hours during the workshop
may be reduced from other years. However, the studio is still available 24
hours a day.
The day before her 3 teaching days is a day when Den Robertson, our director,
prepares you for Nita’s unique and specific teaching techniques. You
will receive the agenda for that day when you check in.
Nita will have her books for sale in the Art Corner Gift Shop and will have
a book signing at the final reception prior to dinner.
These items will be sent 6 weeks prior to the workshop:
- Your instructor’s LIST OF SUPPLIES. (We recognize
each student’s selection is a personal one, so bring what you would
normally use). On the LIST OF SUPPLIES, CERTAIN MARKED ITEMS (*) CAN BE PURCHASED
IN DILLMAN’S ART CORNER UPON YOUR ARRIVAL. Provided for your convenience
are painting boards, water buckets, some stools and studio easels.
- Your CLASS ATTENDANCE LIST. You may wish to consider car
pooling or options for rooming assignments (THIS IS STILL FLEXIBLE). Requests
for single supplements can only be offered as space permits, at a cost of
$30 per night.
NOTES
- Packing list -- plan for casual clothes, for wet and dry, warm or cool
climate. Bug repellent, alarm clock and flashlight may be helpful.
- You are welcome
to arrive early or stay later for a SPECIAL RATE OF $27.50 assuming there
is a double occupancy and space available.
- If you are traveling by air, into
Rhinelander/Oneida airport via Midwest Airlines or Northwest Airlines (1-800-225-2525)
shuttle service from the resort to the lodge is available by reservation
and for a fee.
- Once again we are offering a FREE FISHING SEMINAR for the
PALS, there are Swedish massages, for a fee and by appointment. Also enjoy
an afternoon pontoon ride on beautiful and tranquil White Sand Lake.
- Mid
week maid service will consist of a towel exchange. In addition to the microwaves
and refrigerators, most of the units are equipped with more extensive cooking
options.
- There can NOT be a room rebate for early departure.

Nita, a native of Marquette, Michigan, attended the Art Institute of Chicago for four years, with affiliated study at Northern Michigan University and Roosevelt University, Chicago. She was employed as a graphic designer and then art director of an ad agency in Chicago before becoming a full time illustrator in watercolor for publications from Readers Digest to Playboy. Member of American Watercolor Society since 1969 and frequent exhibitor, winning several awards in their annual shows. She has also served them as a judge and a juror. She has exhibited with Society of Illustrators, New York, including an exhibition in 1976, “200 years of American Illustrators.” Selected for Watercolor Page, American Artists Magazine 1983, Artist of the Year cover artist 1994, 1998 Art Master in watercolor teaching. Nita was selected as one of 25 artists to be part of “International Waters” traveling show in US, Canada and Great Britain. Selected one of 40 US artists to show in Tai Pei, Republic of China, with artists from China and Australia. PBS made a half hour documentary of her work and life called, Wilderness Palette, Nita Engle in Michigan. Elected Hall of Fame by US Art magazine and received honorary doctorate NMU 1986. Accepted by Mill Pond Press for limited edition reproductions since 1981. Has been published in many art books and in 1999 Watson-Guptil published her own book, How to Make a Watercolor Paint Itself, which is available for purchase at Dillman’s gift / art shop.
In 2003 she was one of twenty three artists invited to contribute to a book called, The Watercolor Landscape Techniques of 23 International Artists. To quote directly from the book - "...23 best landscape watercolor painters in the world today."
Studio: Intermediate to advanced.
Nita offers a free tuition scholarship.
Workshop Fee: $486 + tax.

at large) can vacation at Dillmans for $250, which icludes accommodations.
Costs for breakfasts, dinners and receptions are additional.
Box lunches are available at Dillman’s for an additional fee.
