Do you want to make your watercolors sparkle with juicy brushstrokes, crisp edges, vibrant colors and rich darks? Through daily demos sprinkled with humor, Bridget will show you her techniques for developing a workable design sketch, brush handling, personal color, negative painting and joy for watercolor. Her spontaneous approach allows you to add as much or as little detail as the painting requires. Subjects will include the natural landscape-rocks, trees, fields, flowers, water, buildings and travel photos, with helpful handouts on techniques and design. In addition, Bridget will work with each student to help develop individual style and interests through personal and group critiques to make the week an enjoyable and helpful one for all.
Bridget’s expressive paintings reflect her love of the Midwestern landscape, as well as her travels, and have been accepted and received awards in many national and regional shows including the AWS and NWS. She received the Master of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America medal. A graduate of UW-Madison, she has worked as a graphic designer and teacher, and has enjoyed concentrating on watercolor painting and sharing her enthusiasm for the medium in workshops for 25 years. Her work is included in many private, corporate, public collections worldwide and in books including, Creative Watercolor, Searching for the Artist Within, and Celebrating Door County’s Wild Places and on commercial products.
