Nina Weiss May 21 – 27, 2006 (Five Teaching Days)
Beyond Green – Creative Color in Landscape — Multi Media
www.ninaweiss.com
New to Dillman’s
Nina’s objective in “Beyond Green” is to introduce students to the complexity of color found in the landscape; to shake up their understanding of the “green” landscape. Students will learn to move beyond local color and into an exciting new interpretation of nature. A review of color theories will be the springboard for this class. Students will be guided through studies that will help them tease out colors from their medium of choice, and techniques that will bring life to their landscapes. Students will work directly from the lovely landscape surrounding Dillman’s Bay. In addition to color exploration, instruction will also include guidance in composition, gesture, and line in drawings and paintings. Nina’s workshop uses demonstrations, critique and plenty of one-on-one instruction to strengthen your learning experience.
Nina is passionate about the landscape, and has taught landscape
drawing and painting at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago,
the Evanston Art Center, and in many workshops throughout the Midwest.
Her landscape paintings and drawings have been included in the US Government Art in Embassies Program, and many corporate collections including United Airlines, Hyatt Hotels, McDonalds, Marriot, and Embassy Suites. She is represented by galleries throughout the Midwest, and was chosen as Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park in the summer of 2005. You can see her art in the upcoming movie “Ice Harvest” by Harold Ramis.
Past Workshops students of Nina have raved: “Nina is one of the best
teachers I have had. She teaches a great sense of color.......” “Nina
REALLY teaches.......I learned a lot about technique and color that I never
