Expanding
your Horizons in Mixed Media Returning
for the 4th year
Dillman’s is the only location in 2006 that Sueellen will be teaching – don’t miss this opportunity to study with her. Sueellen, often called America’s definitive cat artist, will share her fresh approach in strong
design and subtle humor in her mixed
media paintings. She combines her passion for making art with her love of animals. Build a rich, full-color painting in stages, using graphite pencil, india ink, watercolor, and colored pencil. This five-day workshop takes you through Sueellen’s unique mixed-media technique. Students should bring reference for a subject of their own choice and a completed graphite pencil drawing. Through demonstrations, slides and hands-on instruction, you will be shown inking techniques, simple watercolor approaches and new ways of using colored pencils.
Sueellen, author of Paint Radiant Realism, and Ink and Colored Pencil (North Light Books) resides in Seattle, Washington. She is internationally recognized for her mixed media paintings and hand colored etchings of cats and wildlife. An exhibiting artist for twenty years, she has taught workshops and classes at Seattle’s Frye Art Museum and nationally. She regularly exhibits at "Birds in Art" Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum. She is a signature member of Northwest Watercolor Society. Other honors include Region One winner, Arts for the Parks, Poster Image Arts for the Parks, American Artists Collection, Featured Artists and Spotlight Artists, Pacific Rim Wildlife Art Show. Sueellen is represented by The Howard/Mandville Gallery and the Hadley Companies. Her work can also be seen in the first two editions of The Best of Wildlife Painting edited by Rachel Wolf, and in Painting Birds Step-by-Step by Bart Rulon.
