Have you ever wanted to learn how to carve? Have you been carving for awhile but can’t seem to get things just right? Beginning to Intermediate carvers will love the instruction given by Betsy Popp. Betsy has been wood carving for over 14 years. Betsy teaches step-by-step methods to understanding how to carve. Learn how to read and make your own patterns. Learn sanding and texturing techniques and the ease of painting with oil paints. Emphasis will be placed on the eyes and beak. Your project will be the popular, beautiful, and realistic, male cardinal; everyone’s favorite. Bring your tools and your sense of humor as Betsy keeps you smiling as you learn how to carve in a very relaxed, fun filled atmosphere.

Betsy enjoys her small town surroundings of Townsend, WI. as a place to work on her art forms. Betsy has received many awards for her wood carvings as well as her pastel work. A regular at the annual Wild Wings, "Fall Festival", sponsored by Wild Wings, Lake City, MN. Betsy has also had her art juried into the prestigious "Birds In Art" Exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, WI.

Day students are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Reception (included in your package). You are also invited to join the class for breakfasts and dinners (additional fee).

PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $300, includes accommodations. Costs for breakfasts, dinners and receptions are additional.
