Returning for the 15th year
Catch the spirit of painting on location. Capture the fleeting
aspects of outdoor light. Learn how to quickly block-in using line, shape, value
and color. Follow with hard and soft edges and real and apparent texture. Learn
when to simplify and when to detail for a strong statement. Each morning we
will meet in the studio for some group instruction but we will primarily work
on location, weather permitting. The workshop will include daily demonstrations
and individual critiques. Emphasis in this workshop will be on using good design
principles as a foundation for your paintings. Be ready to take notes as well
as paint as this workshop is packed with useful information designed to help
you grow as an artist. Work in the medium of your choice, pastel, oil or acrylic.
Come prepared to learn and enjoy.
