Jan Boelte    August 31 – September 4, 2006 (Three Teaching Days)
Beautiful Gardens and Landscapes in Watercolor

Enjoy a three-day workshop of garden and landscape painting. Jan captures the essence of her subject matter in a beautiful balance of light and color. The day will start with a demonstration of the day’s subject matter and will cover design, techniques and color harmony. Examples of how to keep your paintings loose and impressionistic will be discussed and implemented into the practice session of the day. The painting for the day can be taken from your own garden and landscape references or you can use the demonstration as your reference source. We will go out and paint in a garden, weather permitting. Each student will be given individual attention during the painting session. Each day will end with a critique of the day’s work and with suggestions on how to improve or finish your painting.

Jan is known for her impressionistic garden and landscape painting. She is an established watercolor artist who has taught studio and college classes for over 25 years. Her work has been accepted in both regional and national shows. She has had several one-woman shows and her work is showcased in galleries and shops in Wisconsin and Illinois. Her work has been featured in Watercolor and North Light Magazines and in numerous corporate and private collections. She is a signature member of the Red River Watercolor Society, the Illinois Watercolor Society and serves on the Museum Search Committee for the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.
